Care Home Churches

Churches Together in Norton currently run monthly church services in two Care Homes in Norton.

Millbeck Care & Residential Home (Norton High Street)

This service runs on the third Wednesday of the month at 11.00am and involves Norton Baptist Church, Norton Methodist Church and St. Mary's Anglican Church on a rota basis. We first started these services back in 2009 when Millbeck asked us if we could provide a worship service for their residents. We have a great time there and Ian takes these services together with Poplars GT3 Group so about 12 of us decend in the Millbeck lounge to enjoy time together with the residents. At Christmas time we usually include a party game or similar.

Cedar Suite Nursing and Care Home (South Road, Norton)

This service runs on the second Thursday of the month at 11.00am and involves Norton Baptist Church, Norton Methodist Church and St. Michael's Anglican Church, again on a rota basis. These services only started in January 2012 when the manager approached us about providing an ecumenical service. Ian and small team from NBC take these services when it is our turn.

Butterwick Hospice (North Tees Hospital site)

The Butterwick Hopsice provide a weekly Holy Communion service at 11.30am on a Thursday in the Hospice Chapel. This is organised directly by the Butterwick but Ian and Alan take the service a couple of times a year as part of a rota system. We also have folk from the church who serve as Hospice support volunteers and helpers.
