Norton Baptist Church

Holy Communion

We celebrate Holy Communion together at various times and it can take various forms as we do not have a single set pattern. We invite all those who love the Lord to take the bread and the wine, and join with us in remembering what Jesus did for us on the cross at Calvary.

Sunday Mornings - The second Sunday of every month is a special service of Holy Communion. There is usually an opportunity to receive prayer and/or anointing with oil for healing at this service. Generally, we serve the bread and the wine from the front of the church in this service so people come forward to receive it. For those unable to come forward or who prefer to receive it in their seat, those serving will come to you once they have finished serving others. Sometimes we put the chairs in a large circle round the Lord's Table instead of facing the front in rows.

Sunday Evenings - The fourth Sunday of every month is a also special service of Holy Communion. This is less structured than on Sunday mornings and we may celebrate it in different ways.

GT3 Groups - We encourage all our small groups to share communion togther as they desire.

Good Friday - We always have a Good Friday Communion service in the Parish Hall on Norton Green at 10.00am which precedes the Open Air Churches Together in Norton (CTiN) service in Norton High Street at the Cenotaph at 11.00am.

Christmas Eve - We join with St. Mary's at St. Mary's for a joint midnight communion service at 11.15pm. This service follows the Anglican liturgy.
