NBC ALLSTARS
We have recently changed our model of children's ministry to allow us more time with the children enabling us to have a quality time of worship, age specific teaching and a good amount of time for us to apply what we have been learning about.
Many people see children as 'the church of tomorrow', we reject that statement because to us, our children are an equal part of 'the church today'. Many churches expect the children and youth to be able to engage with what happens in the 'adult service' on a Sunday morning, and go to their own groups while the adults get their sermon. We believe that children need to discover worship and that we can best do that with them all together, and that they deserve more than 20 or 30 minutes to worship, learn, express themselves creatively, pray, and reflect on life and faith.
Registration
All children need to register for Allstars at the welcome desk on arrival at church. We would ask parents / guardians to bring your child(ren) to room 'L' at 10:20am ready for a 10:30 start. In essence, the Allstars is a second service running alongside the adult service and incorporating the same components: Sung Worship, Prayer, Message, Bible Readings, plus creative expression, fun and games - all delivered in a fast moving, exciting and relevant way.
Every leader has been checked through the CRB system and holds a recent 'enhanced disclosure', they have also completed Child Protection Training to ensure awareness of relevant issues and procedures, and have the support of the church leadership in fulfilling this role.
Collecting Your Child(ren)
We ask all parents (the same person who brought child to Allstars) to collect their child(ren) as soon as possible after the service ends.
Children & Youth Led Services
In order to share with the widerchurch family what we have been getting up to in Allstars, and also to make sure the children get opportunities to worship together with the adults, we have added quarterly special services that are led by the children and youth. The dates are as follows
19/12/10 - Special Christmas Service with food and drink available beforehand. This is for everyone! - parents, neighbours, friends, aunties, uncles, second cousins twice removed ... we would love to see you!
20/03/11 - Superheros! We all have people we look up to and admire, people we think are amazing. Join the children and youth as we explore the truth that Jesus is the only real Superhero!
19/06/11 - The Best Dad - Join us as the children and youth honour their Fathers, and declare that God is their faithful Heavenly Father.
