Norton Baptist Church

Tanzania-Paolo Manase

The church has a link with the Diocese of the Rift Valley in Tanzania, East Africa, and currently a small group of us within the church provide basic financial support for Evangelist, Rev. Paolo Manase. Paolo and his wife, Zippola (pictured below), live in the village of Kinampanda in Kiomboi District, where they are working to plant a new church.

Click on the map link to see the area where Kinampanda is. It is just North East of Kengege and South East of Uwanza - Map

The area is fairly typical of much of central Tanzania, being rural and with little water. Many people have smallholdings which – in a good year – supply most of their food needs. Drought is only too frequent, though, with its attendant hunger, illness and suffering.

At Kinampanda, Sunday services are held at the local Teacher Training College - this reminds of our own situation, as we hire The Education Centre here. They have managed to buy a plot of land for a church building, and have begun to build in faith that God will provide the means to complete the project. Here you can see that the foundations have already been started. We are planning to partner them in this enterprise.

On her recent visit, the church presented Peta with an offering basket for Norton Baptist Church. Here she is formally presenting it to Ian on behalf of the church there. If you come to a service you will see it in use!

We thank God for Paolo and Zippola and ask you to join us in praying for them and the work they have undertaken.
