Norton Baptist Church

The Olive Tree GT3 group

Tuesdays 1.30pm

The Olive Tree GT3 Group started in April 2008. A group of like minded women coming together to share and encourage each other along life's journey. We regularly have a couple of grandchildren join us and are more than happy to accommodate them. We also recognise that there are times when we need to give time to discuss a certain matter that has cropped up in a member's life or the life of the church.

Over the past year or so we've covered a wide range of subjects including:-
Just Ten by J. John (studies on the ten commandments); the Names of God
and our favourite Bible Parables.

Highlights include:-
Organising a Women's Away Day at Grinkle Park Hotel;
Raising plants and running two car boot sales to raise money for the church team that went to Ecuador;
Visiting our mission partners Christine and David Dobinson in Spain;
Running a Norton High Street quiz during the Churches Together in Norton Fun on the Green day.

When the group members were asked what was the main reason for continuing to meet together, they said it was "the mutual love and support shown to each individual both in and outside of the 'official' meeting time".

As one member put it, "It's the only place I can be myself".
