Weddings

As we don't have our own church building at present, we need another registered church building or other registered premises in which to conduct weddings. Consequently, although our Ministers conduct weddings, we do not hold our own marriage registers and a Marriage Registrar or other authorised person is required at the service as well as our Minister to complete the Marriage Certificate.

Generally, it is usually only people connected with us as a church that ask to be married in Norton Baptist Church but we will consider requests from those outside of the wider church family on an individual basis. Our Minister, Ian, has conducted a number of weddings at Rhyl Baptist Church and Moortown Baptist Church, Leeds., prior to moving to NBC.

We also have a good relationship with St. Mary's Church on Norton Green and Ian and Heather's daughter, Sarah, was married to James at St. Mary's in 2008 by the Vicar and our good friend, Revd. Dr. Norman Shave. Hence, we will seek to find a solution as to the 'where to get married?' question with couples who want Norton Baptist Church to marry them or be involved in the ceremony.
