Women’s Refuge
The church seeks to provide practical support to the Women's Refuge in Norton by supplying toiletries and other useful items to them as we are able, for use by women and children fleeing domestic violence. Additionally, we give presents to the children at Christmas and Easter. This year we are able to give pyjamas again for all the children which are a requested great practical favourite.
The Rowans GT3 Group have just held a Christmas Sale in the Parish Hall to raise funds to buy new toasters and kettles for each room. They raised over £152 plus additional monies for Tearcraft.
The Men's Ministry 'Neighbours in Need' Group of 'DIYers' also make themselves available, where and if appropriate, to help with practical jobs around the house when anyone moves out and does not have the necessary practical support from family or friends to get some DIY jobs done to make their new home more habitable.
Our link person with the Refuge is Linda Robertson and as this is a carefully restricted ministry due to the sensitive nature of the work, you will need to speak to her to find out more about how we can help support them as a church.
