Involvement with overseas mission is a key part of the life of NBC and we are committed to serving and helping others wherever God enables us. In fact, the church's DNA is 'missional' - both local and overseas!
BMS World Mission is our main church family mission organisation and we support BMS and their work in many different ways. This includes supporting our link missionaries Andrea and Mark Hotchkin, who work as surgeons in Bardai, a remote region in the north of Chad. You can visit their web-page here for newsletters and videos giving updates on their work.
Other overseas missions that we support are:
Diptipur Boys' Hostel, India
NBC has been involved with the hostel, which is located in a rural village in the state of Odisha in India, since 2010. The hostel accommodates up to 20 boys from some of the poorest families in Diptipur and surrounding villages. It provides a base for them during school term time where they receive holistic care and are enabled to access a good education in the village, which will help them and their families to escape from poverty. A UK sponsorship scheme, overseen by Friends of Diptipur Boys' Hostel, provides most of the hostel's income and NBC is one of the sponsors, along with many individual members and friends of the church. A team usually visits the hostel each year to provide support and encouragement to the boys and staff.
Kids Life Ministries (Thailand)
NBC supports Kid's Life Ministries in Thailand in their work with some of the nation's poorest people. The ministry supports families in need to feed, clothe and educate their children through the scholarship project, church and outreach work with local hill tribes and refugees. The ministry also hosts a full time, 2 year long, Discipleship programme for students from hill tribes to receive a college level vocational qualification as well as understanding of the Bible, development as a disciple and practical experience of ministry, mission and evangelism.
